- So far Wik has moved User:RickK, User:Bcorr, User:Hephaestos, user:MyRedDice and probably others to User:Moron, User:Idiot, User:Asshole and others. Can we please get the programmers to include "move page" in the protected page restrictions? (I'm feeling left out... I haven't been called a name yet...) - Tεxτurε 23:53, 24 May 2004 (UTC)
18:55 User:Texture moved to User:Stupid (cur; hist) . . Give it up, Texture. (Talk)
- Thanks, Wik. Now I don't feel left out... - Tεxτurε 23:56, 24 May 2004 (UTC)
- By using anonymous proxies and throwaway sockpuppet accounts, Wik is now trolling on the Village Pump, and possibly other pages. I thought he "left"? Anárion 10:59, 26 May 2004 (UTC)
Why do we think this is Wik, rather than someone trying to cause trouble for him? Morwen 11:05, May 26, 2004 (UTC)
- This user acts like Wik does, and signs comments on pages with 'Wik', talking about 'his' page and using the same slurs for other people the signed in user Wik does/did. As the current troll uses anonymous proxies (taken from a public list) this could of course be someone else, but that is rather unlikely. Anárion 11:56, 26 May 2004 (UTC)
- Blocked the vandal User:Stopvandalism and found out by tracing his edits to Jimbo's page that it was Wik. I guess his ban timer restarts again? Is there any reason that he isn't banned for good based on the huge amount of vandalism he has performed in the past week? Will he be called to account for it when he actually stays away and completes his one week ban? - Tεxτurε 23:27, 27 May 2004 (UTC)
- Blocked User:Stop vandalism for moving Hephaestos' talk page to "User talk:Hephaestos(VANDAL)". I don't know if anyone documented the first round of vandalisms or this recent round that involved vandal text on various pages from an anon IP. - Tεxτurε 23:52, 27 May 2004 (UTC)
- Now he is Stopvandalism! and has moved Quagga to "User talk:Quagga the vandal". Also vandalized recentchanges. - Tεxτurε 23:57, 27 May 2004 (UTC)
- Also User:Stop vandalism! and user:Stopvandalism!
- His ban timer restarts every time - see wikipedia:banning policy.
- Targets so far: Quagga and Heph's talk page, wikipedia:recentchanges, wikipedia:village pump.
I believe a few people have emailed him about this and confirmed its him, though not me personally.(might have been wrong about that last bit Martin)
A user called, ironically User:Stop vandalism ! (also using aliases of User:Stopvandalism!, User:Stop vandalism, User:Stop vandalism! and User:Stopvandalism) is repeatedly vandalising Wikipedia:Village pump. Revert and block on sight. -- ChrisO 00:04, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- He's even vandalised this page. Talk about not having a sense of irony... -- ChrisO 00:18, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, he renamed it "Wikipedia:Quaggaism in progress" and in the process we managed to lose all the page history somewhere along with a few missing edits of the Wik entry. - Tεxτurε 00:31, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- User talk:Rickyrab/Quaggaism... my spoof of this nonsense. Rickyrab 00:35, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- More vandalism to this page moved to "Quaggaism in progress" again. - in case anyone is counting. - Tεxτurε 01:21, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- Yet another move of this page and a user's page to "User:Guanaco (vandal protector)" - Tεxτurε 01:43, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- The same was done to User talk:MyRedDice (vandal protector). He is causing serious problems and is impairing the normal function of the wiki. Is there anything we could do that would end this cycle of vandalism, repair, protection, and blocks? Guanaco 01:49, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- Just moved this page back once more from Wikipedia:Quaggaism in progress -- Chris 73 | Talk 01:51, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- I found this page's old history at Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress (other than Quagga's). We'll need someone to merge the two histories. Guanaco 02:01, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
Wik has declared a War on Jimbo's talk page. Everyone needs to especially vigilant at the moment for Wik, his sockpuppets, his anon proxies etc. Unlike many vandals he is inteligent and resourceful, so we all need to pull together on this one. Repeatedly reverting and banning is the only solution. block sockpuppets indefinately, block isolated IP's indefinately, block ranges of IP's for one week (the AC has banned wik for a week). Note that Jimbo feels Wik's latest vandalism rampage has lost him all sympathy. I intend to push for a permanent ban by the AC but let's just go with the week for now. theresa knott 11:02, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- If it really was Wik - and I've seen nothing to suggest that it wasn't - then I can only agree wholeheartedly. I respected his contributions but the repeated vandalism of this page and the Village Pump, which wasted a lot of my own and other editors' time yesterday as well as causing much disruption to the rest of the user community, was inexcusable. At the very least, the person behind the vandalism attack should receive a long ban (months, not weeks) and if s/he persists should be hard-banned. -- ChrisO 14:50, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
- Don't forget that he also moved my user pages to pages such as, "Quagga vandal", "Quagga needs to be banned", and others. --Quagga
- See User talk:UninvitedCompany#Special characters for what Wik has to say about it - the bottom line is that s/me wants Quagga banned and is threatening to attack Wikipedia repeatedly until that happens. It won't, of course, as that would amount to giving in to blackmail. -- ChrisO 08:16, 30 May 2004 (UTC)
Exactly. Right now Wik is still wanting me banned, but I think he is away:
I'm trying to leave now for 5 days and still have to endure this crap -Wik
That's what he said on Jimbo's talk page. --Quagga
I think we should unblock Wik and just give him a chance. I think he probably won't vandalise Wikipedia if we unblock him. --Lst27 01:58, 2 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I changed my mind. --Lst27 23:32, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
