From Dillon with the contstant rumble of I-70 on my mind I have been looking for a transportation alternative. When I see a Lincoln Navigator with one dude driving, and a mountain bike mounted on the roof I have to question our way of thinking
Even children need to burn a gallon to get to school. Go check out the middle school parking lot at 7:45 on any school day. The bus is efficient,it passes the middle school, goes to the high school then back to the middle school. Twice my kid travels the least improved road in the county. It wastes my kids time and is unruly. No wonder we drive.
.
I don`t picture empty Quad chairs dangeling over the highway. I picture a high speed pod with the internet cruising through the woods.Where my son checks his homework on the way to school and maximizes his day. Telluride is now a non-motorized town with thier new gondola. My friend there dropped the second vehicle and all the ha$$les of it. I picture every condo within a quarter mile of the system being ski in ski out, thats Alta-like. Summit could be a unique destination. Logistics of a ski trip could be simplified, safer and cheaper.
How`bout if you check your bags at the Pittsburg airport, your bags will beat you to your condo. Not the carasell at D.I.A. Use the keyboard to type in your pre-arranged din settings and your rentals will be waiting for you. Lets see, thats six hours from Pittsberg to the top of Keystone mountain.Dad enjoyed a cocktail and put the police out of work. A bus from D.I.A. to somewhere up here is needed to start. Thats as close to the Jetsons as I can get you. The technologh exists. Silverthorne just built a state of the art elematary school, said to be a 100 year school. It is a mile from the nearest child. No child will walk to this school. The line up of Yukons ,Escalades, Excersions, makes me ponder what bin Laden said from his cave about energy consumption in the U.S.A. . Cost? Get the money from Summit Stage[bus] by eliminating it. Get the money from the public school transportation budget by eliminating it,then lower my taxes. Get the money from the government that will have traffic levels of 1979. Get the money from me after I drop a vehicle. Get the money from the millions more tourists who get to leave thier cars in Pittsburg and now have more money for cheeseburgers.
George Bush`s idea of turning water into gasoline is far fetched, my idea is not. Politicians hate my idea. Traffic fatalaties per capita in Summit are off the charts, this is a good place to start. V.R.stock might even go above twenty bucks if they expanded thier infastructure. Starbucks would probably sponser a terminal. I would be interested in your response. Dan Montgomery. second letter
Hi, Politicians think this is a whacky one. A developer might not.
A chairlift from Dillon to Keystone. Not a behomoth of a high speed quad, but existing cable and pod technology. With every condo in Dillon ski in, ski out, property values soar. That could be the motivation for a politician to think outside the box. Logistics for a ski trip simplified. Unique expierience marketed. No cars on a ski trip is really great. CMC offers classes in the field and Vail Resorts has the infrastructure in place. The list of positive results are many. They range from DUI, oil,I-70 solution.water,air.Locals would be able to become one car families,Thats huge personal $avings.Propery values soar.Traffic worries, Unique ski destination, place to live. If anybody would like to debate me on this issue,I can run them into the ground. danmontgomery1@juno.com
I think we've found the strangest talk page on wikipedia..... Something about the above rant is somehow poetic, yet downright weird.... --Orang55 00:45, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Notable Failures
[edit]Is this section needed? Lifts stop all the time and have to be rope evacuated. For example, the Sullivan Express @Cabelback Mountain Resort, PA had a major chair derailment (it's a 1990s Doppelmayr detachable). Or, the Mont-Sainte Anne gondola, a year ago, it had a major accident resulting in the lift being closed for over a year. Skier72 (talk) 04:01, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Skier72:, if those received coverage in regional press comparable to The Oregonian, I would say those may merit inclusion too, especially if it was newly installed or particular gruesome. Graywalls (talk) 01:42, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
