[edit]The name is Byrd, not Boyd. No wonder I couldn't find it by searching on "Byrd"!
Most of what I know about Byrd is culled from my Grade 5 history textbook (I was in Grade 5 in 1969-1970, and the textbook appears to date from the late 1950s or early 1960s).
I have added a bit more, but that textbook is not handy to me right now, so I can't add much more.
Fate of Little America
[edit]It seems Little America went to Davy Jones in 1987, but that's only tangentially mentioned here. Could it be made more explicit? Xenophon777 02:41, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Jacobs Wind plant installation date
[edit]Found this footnote at Little America (exploration_base)#Little America II, thought it should be put in this talk page rather than in the article itself.
The information in this paragraph is somewhat inconsistent with other information in the article (on 2013-06-19):
This paragraph says that the Jacobs Wind plant was installed in 1933. The section on Little America I, however, says that that base was abandoned in 1930, while the section on Little America II (this section) says that that base was only established in 1934. Was the Jacobs Wind plant installed independently of any of the bases?
