I've been here since the end of March 2004, and have just gone over 2,000 edits (about three quarters to the main namespace). I have been doing some new article patrolling recently and been involved in some VfD process checking (see Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Boris Johnson). Dbiv 01:14, 13 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I often patrol Special:Newpages for speedy deletion material and keep a check on current VfD debates. As I regularly check UK politics articles which are sometimes the targets of vandalism, I will also look out for this more intensively.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. A list of major contributions is on my user page. Obviously I'm quite proud of the featured articles which I have been involved in, and also of contributing biographies of London political figures.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. I haven't been involved in any editing wars, which must be partly because if there's a dispute about an edit my normal reaction is to become calmer and go to talk pages to explain why I prefer my version, and try to hash out a solution. See Talk:Tony Blair for some examples.
