Do we really want to list ALL the counties that share a name? I think it makes more sense just to do numbers to start with. And won't, say, Mercer County be named after Hugh Mercer in 90 percent of the cases, or Cherokee County be named after the Cherokee people in 90 percent of the cases? We can make notes in the odd cases... I just think listing ALL of the counties makes for an extremely long and unwieldly list--at least on the first pass. jengod 23:13, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)
Technical correction needed: "Lists more than 8" when in fact 8's are listed. --206.18.168.224 07:16, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Scott County
[edit]Aren't most Scott Counties named after General Winfield Scott? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.17.47.82 (talk) 17:16, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Maps?
[edit]It would be interesting to add a map column. The maps would be state maps (not county maps) highlighting the states which have the particular county. This would quickly highlight whether certain names are more popular in particular regions. YBG (talk) 12:54, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
