A humble step forward...

I don't believe in freeloading. I abhor it, actually. So, to justify using OSS and projects like Wikipedia, I am compelled to contribute.

I am a graduate of Transylvania University, having majored in Computer Science. I chose computers because I love new technology to the point of addiction, and because I was born with The Knack [1].

I presently live with my wife in Lexington, Kentucky. We hope to soon be the proud owners of a Pug and/or a house. (I'd be happy with just the Pug.)

I like to express myself in writing, though the blog lifestyle requires a little more devotion than I can express. Add my characteristic long-windedness and fondness for linking, and you get quite a web of words.

gamer

I enjoy Video games, specifically RPGs and fighters. I'm also a traditional pen and paper RPGamer, having played Dungeons & Dragons and currently running a d20 Modern campaign.

I am a fan of Science fiction, with my favorite show of all time being Babylon 5. The works of JMS, in general, are usually top-notch, as I also greatly enjoy Rising Stars. I also enjoy the works of Joss Whedon, particularly his Buffyverse and Firefly. For the record, Deep Space Nine is the best of the Star Trek series.

I also enjoy cartoons, with Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and Mainframe's ReBoot being at the top of my long list.

Another must-have is Freaks and Geeks.

other stuff

I have been into darkroom photography for well over a decade, and videography for nearly as long. The power to produce images or film is truly amazing.
